About
Jennifer Bain is an Associate Professor in the Department of Music at Dalhousie University. Her research interests are wide-ranging, including the secular music of 14th-century poet and composer, Guillaume de Machaut, medieval music theory, the 19th- and 20th-century reception of medieval music, as well as issues surrounding the role of women in the production and composition of music.
Current research projects explore a 16th-century Cistercian manuscript (the Salzinnes Antiphonal) and the 19th- and 20th-century revivals of medieval writer and composer, Hildegard of Bingen. She has an article on the Salzinnes Antiphonal forthcoming in _Studi musicali_ and is co-editing a multi-disciplinary collection of essays _A Companion to Guillaume de Machaut_ for Brill publishers.
